BE WARY - FOREIGN HANDSET SUPPLIED & NO MANUFACTURER WARRANTY!

I bought an item that I thought was coming from A1 Tech Deals (selected based on their review ratings, & the price of the product). It was supplied to me (very quickly) by a third-party company that I would never have chosen, having looked at their reviews. The phone supplied was clearly intended for the Hong Kong market, & the Samsung warranty info referred to contacting Samsung HK, & said it did not apply to products sold in markets other than the one it was intended for (i.e. not outside HK! I contacted A1 & got a response (from AI, judging by the times of response, and use of language/response given to two emails). They stated that their website said that they supplied international models that would work in the UK (but couldn't say whether it would accept software updates!). I asked for the link to the page, but they were unable to send it! When I asked about the warranty - I was told that there was a 12mth warranty supplied by themselves (A1 Tech Deals), & not by Samsung. I pointed out that their website FAQs stated that the product would be covered by a 12 month original manufacturer warranty. Response was merely to repeat that it was covered by their own warranty, & not from Samsung. No response about not meeting the terms described on their website. Shades of mis-representation? Certainly not a satisfactory response. I was told that if I was not happy I could apply to return the product within 30 days, and if they agreed I would get a full refund (less charges if it was not returned in factory-new condition). Have kept the phone, as had bought case, & needed handset quickly. Time will tell whether I have made a mistake!

I purchased a phone which was on offer. I was a little hesitant as it was significantly cheaper than other sellers. I checked and rechecked that it was a new phone as the price was only a little over standard re-furb price elsewhere. The phone arrived quickly even accounting for a BH. BNIB...works perfectly. Great price, Royal Mail free delivery, fuss free transaction. Recommended.
